Evgeni Malkin had a hat trick while Bill Guerin (2G+2A) and Chris Kunitz (1G+3A) each tied a franchise record with four points in a period.

The Senators beat the Penguins, 6-2, on Nov. 19 in Ottawa and 4-1 on Jan. 28 at Mellon Arena. Senators’ starting goaltender Brian Elliott made his only start against the Penguins in the latter contest, stopping 30 of 31 shots. Chris Kelly led the way for the Senators in the series with four points (3G-1A).
